The 7 Hacks to Launch a Business for Less – Step Seven
Step Seven: Create Your Social Media Marketing Strategy
For the last and final hack, step seven, to launching your business for less you need to focus on your social media strategy. For early-stage businesses, social media can be a very powerful tool. A strong social media marketing (SMM) strategy will drive traffic, for free, and bolster your brand awareness.
However, you need to be careful when it comes to time management with social media. It can easily become a time drain with minimal returns if your accounts aren’t managed well. I strongly recommend taking one day a week to write all of your posts for the upcoming seven days. Better yet, use an online/mobile tool to schedule and create the posts! That way you can set up your posts for the week, be done, and focus on other items that need your attention. This helps avoid the social media black hole that can suck us all in, we go down rabbit holes. Limit your time you spend on your own social media.
A great tool for scheduling your social media posts is Hootsuite. Simply load content in the form of posts and let Hootsuite manage when content and images are published to your social media platforms. Hootsuite works with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Once people start talking about the new business, it is important to get a solution to track all of the mentions. Every business owner should know what people are saying about their company. Free services like Google Alerts and Mention make it easy to track terms, companies and news regarding your operation.
For an entrepreneur, the road to success is riddled with challenges, but through hard work and a smart strategy, success is possible.
